How to setup MFA on your Salesforce account

  1. If you don’t have the Microsoft Authenticator app downloaded to your cell phone, please download and install the app from your appropriate app store.  Please make sure you’re installing the official Microsoft Authenticator app.
  2. On the Salesforce login page, click use verification codes from an authenticator app and then continue:

  1. You will see this on the screen:

  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your cell phone.
  2. In the app, tap on the +

  1. Tap on other:

  1. Using this screen, put your phones camera over the Salesforce QR code from step 3:

  1. Once the QR code is scanned, you will now see the Boston IVF account on the main page of your Microsoft Authenticator app.  The random code that is generated every 30 seconds will be needed when logging into Salesforce:

  1. We would advise changing the name of this to Salesforce so there is no confusion for which account this is.  In order to change the name, please tap on this account and then the settings cog in the top right corner:

  1. Tap on Account name, delete Boston IVF and rename it Salesforce and then tap done. Tap the back arrow twice to return to the main page.
  2.  Once all of these steps have been completed, enter the Salesforce code from your authenticator app into the code box on the Salesforce website, and then click connect.
